The Inter Club League is a series of events run on the road between Orchard Wheelers, Clann Eireann & Apollo CT. The events all take place on the road, however they compromise of the following events:
Road Races:
These are handicapped events, with typically 3 groups starting off and a mass finish. This is a great way to improve your fitness and skills for riding in a bunch. The races are designed so that all groups come together near the end of the race, however if a particular group works well they maybe able to separate themselves from the rest of the riders.
Time Trials:
These are individual races against the clock. Riders compete to do the fastest time, with handicaps being worked out after 3 events, meaning the rider with the most improvement wins, not the fastest on the night.
Hill Climbs:
These are devilishly hard, with one accent of a climb and the lowest time wins. These are hard but very enjoyable and are typically less than 5 minutes!
The league also includes both an Australian Pursuit and a 2-up Time Trial throughout the year. There is also an awards ceremony at the end of the season, with multiple prizes handed out in the different disciplines and age groups, as well as a set of overall trophies.
