Northern Ireland's first off road mountain bike trail has been officially openned at the Craigavon Water Sports Centre.
The NIO Minister for the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, David Hanson MP, officially declared the trail open on Thursday 8th September.
The trail signalled the end of a 3 year project, between CAAN, Craigavon Borough Council and Dafydd Davis of WalesTrails who designed the trail, which is the only mountain Bike trail in any city park in the world! |

Suitable for - Intermediate cyclist/mountain bikers with basic off road riding skills. Mountain bikes or hybrids. Trail and surface type - As 'green' plus specially constructed bike tracks and bridleways, byways and unsurfaced unclassified roads. Most gradients moderate but may include short steep sections. Trail surface may include small obstacles of roots and rock. Suggested fitness level - A good standard of fitness can help. Potential risk - These trails carry a moderate risk of accident.The trail is 10.6kms long with 7kms of singletrack. The singletrack trail is narrow, no more than 600mm wide, with an earth or stone surface. The singletrack trails are suitable for a range of abilities of cyclist from novice riders to experienced mountain bikers, also suitable for kids but only those that are competent cyclists.
Follow the blue circular waymarkers with the words moderate cycle trail around the edge to get around the trail.
