Several intrepid (And some say pasty white) Apollo riders went to Spain for some pre-season training, covering over 400 hard miles over 8 days. The climbs included Coll De Rates (2000 feet, 3 times) and the Observatory (or as Junior called it the Conservatory….) at 3300 feet. As per the course every coffee shop on route was visited along with daily (At least) trips to the bike shop for repairs and mishaps.

Saturday saw the first of the promised beginners run organised by Enda McDaid, backed up by experienced riders. Enda led the group round the 35 mile circuit at a steady pace and all enjoyed a leisurely ride with stories swapped and encouragement given. Well done to Siobhan McCrory and Dominic McCann completing their first club runs, giving signs that they have the ability to step up the pace by the end of the year. Thanks to all who turned up and please spread the word about this run as it is a great way to introduce new people to the club.

There is some confusion surrounding the Xmas dinner and where to leave deposits
To make things simple, can anyone who is going to the dinner leave a deposit of £10 in a sealed envelope with your name written on the outside in Wheels N Motion with Aaron? I will then collect them every weekend up until the first week in December.
The dinner is in the Ashburn hotel on the 17th December and I think the price is approx £27, menu’s and definite price will be up on the website after the committee meeting on the first monday in November. We need at least 30 people to go to ensure we get the side room for the presentations so get your deposit in quickly!
