Friday: 1800 outside Lurgan Police Station. This is for beginners and and ideal way to start learning to ride in groups. Plenty of experience will be on hand to offer advice

Saturday Morning Bun-run: 0900 outside Lurgan Police Station. Needs must, a relaxed run out to a coffee shop for a brew. At a steady bust brisk pace, remember to bring a few quid!

Sunday morning: 0930 outside Lurgan Police Station. This is the traditional Lurgan club run, all levels are welcome and can break off at any time.

Bit of Fun…

We’re gonna run a wee competition on the Tour of Flanders, easy as letting me (Andy) know who you fancy for the win and we’ll get a wee list together, just for kicks but if we get enough interest we can maybe run a sweepstake for Roubaix a week later but for now its just for kicks, a bit of craic.Heres the offical start list http://rvv.pro.p.assets.flandersclassics.be/files/605/original/startlist_RVV20120326.pdf?1332767143

and heres the link to the Ronde Van Vlaanderen website. http://www.rondevanvlaanderen.be/en

I reckon Boonan can take it this year, what about you?

Let me know via the twitter feed or the facebook page and we’ll publish a list of who thinks what.
Oh and Matt, your not allowed to pick yourself.

Lurgan’s Apollo Cycling Club held the first reliability trial of the year starting at the Goodyear Social Club on Sunday. For the uninitiated a reliability trial is a pre-season cycling event typically, but not exclusively, for competitive cyclists. It is essentially a leisure run but is usually at a decent pace. It gives an opportunity to test the fitness levels, check out the new gear (if Santa came calling) and just work off a few of those extra pounds gained over the close season.

For the first trial of the year in Mid-January conditions were almost perfect and the event attracted ninety-five cyclists from various Ulster Cycling Clubs. The cyclists with motorcycle outriders were led out by a pace car for thirty miles, with the pace increasing for the return on the sixty-eight mile jaunt. With an average of over 21mph the leading bunch returned in around three hours.

Back at the Goodyear Apollo Cycling Club members had put on a spread for all the participants and energy levels were well replenished.

Well done to organiser Andy McGibbon and to everyone who contributed to the success of the trial. Goodyear Social Club is an ideal venue to host such an event, being just outside the town and having both parking and changing facilities. Thanks go to the committee and staff of Goodyear Social Club for their assistance to Apollo.

Apollo Cycling Club is based in Lurgan and their members include both leisure and competitive cyclists. There are club runs each Saturday and Sunday morning and details are on their website. New members are always welcome. Why not check them out on www.apolloct.com or on Facebook.

The annual Apollo CT Reliability Trial will start this Sunday 15th Jan. It’s the usual curtain opener for the reliability season, with it being the first chance to test your legs for the up coming season!

It starts from the Goodyear Social Club [Silverwood Road, Lurgan, BT66 6NA] @ 0930, with sign on open 0815. There’s a £5 fee and riders must have a C.I. license.

The route is 68 miles and the pace will be restricted for the first half of event. Riders will be encouraged to keep 50 yards off the lead car for safety reasons.

Finish will be back at The Goodyear Social Club were refreshments will be provided by the team.

Heres the route for all you with a Garmin: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/886864
